What is Dota

DotA stand for Defense of the Ancients. It is a map in Warcraft III that allows 10 players (maximum) fight together by separates them into two teams called Sentinel and Scourge.

The objective of DotA is to destroy the Ancient structure which are The World Tree belong to Sentinel side and The Frozen Throne belong to Scourge side who destroy it first will win.

By that simple objective but the way to do is not simple any more. DotA map design to have three main entrances each side to get into the Ancient structure. Along the way, there are some obstructers such as towers, wave of creep and also the players from other side.

As a player, DotA provides you a ton of weapons for you to fight and do your strategy in the game.

The first weapon is a stock of hero that has up to 103 heroes (map version 6.71b) and each of them has 4 differences skills. You can pick one of them and utilize it as you please.

The second one is items. There are also a lot and can briefly categorize them into such as support item, Damage item and consumable item.

As we know DotA is a multiplayer game, so every players need to contact with each other to do strategy. By the human being, we like to contact each other as the foundation that cause DotA is a successful game so far. The thing that I mention about the number of player in DotA, it is not 1v1 or 2v2, but 5v5 that is the same as the very popular sport, Basketball.
